The Gingerbread House was founded in 2013 and set in a restored 100 year old church in Katoomba, in the World Heritage listed and outstandingly breathtaking Blue Mountains National Park.
Large communal recycled elm tables easily fit large groups, or simply join a small group and meet a local or a traveller just passing through. Our Christmas tree and lights are up all year round so it always feels magical inside.
We have a beautiful, landscaped outdoor area, where we grow lots of Australian native plants. Spring is the best time to see our garden in all its glory. We also have a gingerbread cubby house and slippery dip for the kids. With off street parking in our car park accessed behind the building (via Lurline St), and toilets with baby change facilities, the Gingerbread House is the perfect venue to rest and refuel when road tripping.
We offer an all day menu with a fairy tale theme.
Our popular Charlotte's Web (a delectable bacon and egg sandwich with our house bbq sauce and caramelised onion jam) to Green Eggs and Ham, there's also house-made soups, lunch platters, cheese packed jaffles and plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. We have something for everyone including our fussiest eaters - kids!

But, let's be honest, the Gingerbread House is all about the SWEETS.
We make all our gourmet cakes in-house, there's fancy schmancy drinks based on the Hansel and Gretel fairytale, we have traditional creaming soda spiders, decadent hot chocolates (if you're brave, try our chilli hot chocolate) and of course, our own house baked gingerbread.
After you've enjoyed your drinks and food you can take a bit of the Gingerbread House with you, our store is stocked full of lollies, sweets, candy and ginger based goodies, as well as lovely tea cups, mugs and teapots and locally made products.
